Florence is not only the cradle of the Renaissance, the city of Dante and Michelangelo, the shining marbles of its cathedral and the incomparable art of Piazza della Signoria. Florence has so much more to it, such as its "left bank," the Oltrarno neighborhood with its many artisan shops and laundry hanging outside windows, and where the Medici, Florence's ruling family, chose to live in.

This combined walking tour will give you a chance to see our magnificent city as a whole and sample some of its renowned culinary delights.

On the first part of the tour, an expert guide will lead you on an exploration of the historical, religious, and political center of Florence, including the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, and the Ponte Vecchio.

In the late afternoon, after a couple-hour break with free time to relax or shop, the guided tour will continue on the Arno's "left bank," Florence's quintessential neighborhood, the Oltrarno.

The tour will feature some mouth-watering breaks to sample food in local eateries and discover the flavors of simple, delicious Florentine cuisine.

Between sips of wine, bites of salami and cheese, and excellent toasts, you'll discover Palazzo Pitti, whose hulking stone immensity will leave your mouth agape. Your guide will tell you all about its history including fascinating facts and legends about the extraordinary family that was the Medici.

Then you’ll discover the marvel of Piazza Spirito, presided over by the spare, elegant facade of its church, which once hosted a young Michelangelo during his early anatomy studies. Another lip-smacking break will be a chance to sample local baked goods like almond biscotti, olive oil focaccia, rosemary bread...and, for the finale, a fabulous artisanal gelato!

Price:	€ 55 adult € 38 for children under 14 years old if in company of an adult participant.

By reservation only (tour will take place rain or shine and from 2 participants onwards)

PRICE INCLUDES: guided tour of the historical center, gourmet guided tour of the Oltrarno with samples of wine cheese and other Florentine specialities and ice cream, earphones for groups with more than 15 participants, Florence and Tuscany Tours’ staff assistance at the meeting points.

MEETING POINT:

for the walking tour: in front of the Hard Rock Cafe, via Brunelleschi 1, just off piazza della Repubblica, 15 minutes before the start of the tour.

for the gourmet’s tour: in front of Banca Toscana, piazza della Signoria 6, 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
