THE VASARI CORRIDOR

"Excellent informative tour"
We booked with Florence and tuscany tours.com for a tour to see the vasari corridor over the Uffizi art gallery, it was confirmed over the telephone on the day ,we were met exactly on time outside the Uffizzi at a pre arranged area by two guides, when inside, no queing, it was arranged to go straight inside. The tours only allow a maximum of eight people , which is brilliant and more of a persional touch, the guide could not obviously talk about all the paintings as there are too many, but ample time was given to peruse all the art works within this 700m corridor. The Italian Guide spoke very good English and was the most knowledgeable and entertaining we have had. It was quite expensive, but not as expensive as some and recommended by the hotel - well worth every penny Brilliant.

THE GOURMET TOUR

“What a great way to learn where the locals eat!”
Francesca, our guide was so delightful.
She took great pleasure in showing us the local hangouts and eateries in her town. The sampling of food and wine was abundant as well as tasty.
The tour was a mix of history, architecture and customs exclusive to Florence.
Take the evening tour and enjoy the lively street entertainment as you sample your way through the piazzas. It is quite possible that you will run into her friends who invite you to their restaurants and then treat you like a king! Ciao!

 “Great David”
We didn't know that all Museums in Florence were closed on Mondays and we should leave for Venice on Tuesday morning. Therefore our only option was Tuesday early morning at 8:00 a.m. I search all the tours and I found only getyourguide.com offers a tour on Tuesday morning. I booked the tour for 3 of us. When I reviewed the voucher I found there was some contradiction in the tour time. I checked the subject with the getyourguide.com and I was told the local tour operator had changed the time to noon but they had not changed the timing in their tour program. I was told since it was their fault local operator will organize a private tour for us. How nice impression this action gave to us. we are thanking the local operator and getyourguide.com. We ask the guide to shorten the tour to one hour and we made a brief visit to the academy. I believe the David statue alone was a museum. However there were other masterpieces too. We liked this tour too much although we were hurrying. Thanks all

Walking Tour of Florence and Close Encounter at the Uffizi

“Friendly guides & well-run operation!”
I'd highly recommend this tour! The guides for this tour were very friendly and knowledgeable. At the start, we split into small groups, each with a guide who is fluent in our language. Our guide was very accommodating, and gave more (or less) information and spent more (or less) time on things, based on how interested folks in our group were. The walking tour was not at all strenuous, and stayed within a few blocks at the central part of the city. After the walking tour, we had a 20-minute break, then all the language groups joined again to enter the Uffizi. The guide asked us at the start if anyone had a keen interest in a type of art or something particular at the Uffizi, and said she could spend more time on that if we let her know. We used headsets in the Uffizi to hear the guide, and it worked really well. At the tour's end, she helped everyone get their bearings, and we could then remain in the Uffizi as we wished. It was very well-run operation & an excellent tour!!

" A definite highlight of our trip, Florence and Tuscany was a dream thanks to these guys"
We stayed in Florence for 4 days and nights on our European honeymoon and did the "Tuscany in a day tour" - Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena trip, which included lunch. A mini van picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off at the meeting point. The day was lovely. Our guide, Eleonora, was superb, she was very friendly, accommodating and really knew her stuff, plus she had a lovely sing song Italian accent when she spoke English so pleasing on the ear. The guide gave us a running commentary during the drive, but let us have periods of relaxation where we just enjoyed the view and when we got dropped off at the various stops (Pisa etc), we had about an hour to explore by ourselves which was lovely. Lunch was at Casalchino restaurant in San Gimignano where we tried local dishes which was nice (not outstanding but fine). Our B & B host Ylenia from Relais Firenze Stibbert (also highly recommended accommodation) warned us that we would be tired after the long day (12 hours) but it was not long for us at all, when we had free time we could walk around as leisurely as we liked, and the rest of the time was spent driving between the attractions, which wasn't that tiring, but maybe we are relatively young and fit and (28 years old, we were the youngest on the bus, which was full of retirees, and middle aged we guess)...we absolutely fell in love with all Siena and San Gimignano! It was a great tour with a good pace.
The next day we also booked with this company and did the "Walking Tour + Uffizi Gallery + Panoramic Bus" (48 hour hop on hop off ticket) of Florence. We had Anna (originally from Sweden but had been in Italy for 15 years), who was the walking tour guide, who was EXCELLENT. She was very passionate about her job, her delivery of the history of Florence (2500 years condensed succinctly in an hour and a half) was superb; she really knew her stuff, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and hung on her every word. She also did a wonderful job of doing the tour of Michaelangelo’s David (galleria dell’accademia). A few hours later we had a different tour guide, (forgot his name) but he was Italian but spoke English and he did a very amusing tour of the Uffizi Gallery (he had a funny personality), a little hard to understand at times but he did a great job (2 hours I think the guide was). After that we were definitely ‘arted’ out from all that art and culture and called it a day with a yummy gelato near Piazza della Repubblica.
