The National Archaeological Museum of Florence is located in the Palazzo della Crocetta (a palace built in 1620 for princess Maria Maddalena de' Medici). It is divided into four main sections all of which hold world famous masterpieces: The Etruscan, the Roman, the Greek and the Egyptian collections.

Here you can see the prized Chimera of Arezzo, the Arringatore statue, the Idolino from Pesaro, the Minerva from Arezzo, the Orator, the astonishing Greek Vase François.

If this is not enough, the Egyptian section of the collection, known as the Egyptian Museum, is the second largest collection of Egyptian artifacts in Italy, after that of the Museo Egizio in Turin.
