An ancient Dominican convent, which was completely restored at the beginning of the 15th century and one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture. This museum houses a vast collection of Renaissance sacred art, works connected to Girolamo Savonarola who lived here, an astonishing library with fine examples of illuminated codices, and the original cells in which the monks lived. Masters such as Beato Angelico, Fra Bartolomeo, Ghirlandaio and Poccetti can be found here.
In the lapidary section right before the exit, one can also find historical remains saved during the renovation works of the second half of the 19th century in which the whole historical center was reconditioned.
