Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, book the finest Rome group experience

Tour Code: R1

Visit the Vatican Museums and the fabulous Sistine Chapel, skip the line and enjoy one of the most extraordinary Rome group tours, among famous highlights and “must see”. You won’t need any audioguide, our expert guides will answer to all of your questions, explaining each work of art with an excellent analysis based on cultural and historic information and telling the legends, the hidden meanings and some fun facts.

Did you ever “meet” the Laocoon? And what about the Apollo Belvedere? Have a hearty breakfast and join our guided tour to one of the most relevant galleries in the world, where you will admire many masterpieces from the Egyptian Age to late Renaissance, and above all, several paintings and sculptures made by the greatest Italian artists of the modern era.

Our itinerary continues with the Segnatura Room, originally Pope Julius II personal library and office, and the first painted by Raphael. The frescoes in this room are the most celebrated of all Raphael’s Rooms. The 4 main frescoes represent the fusion of classical and Christian themes. You will fall in love with the Room of Helidorus, the one of the Fire in the Borgo and the Hall of Constantine.

Finally the Sistine Chapel. Because no talking is allowed inside the building, the guide will stop before entering, and with the help of illustrated panels will explain the history and the symbolism of the paintings that are inside the chapel. This masterpiece was built in the 15th century and was decorated by the most important artists of the time including Botticelli, Perugino, Ghirlandaio and Michelangelo in the 16th century. Here you will get a closer look to the creation of Adam and the Judgement day.

After the tour, visitors are free to return to the Vatican Museums until closing. It’s possible to have a short relaxing break in the gift shop.
