An invitation to Court: Discover the Pitti Court Palace, the Residence of Medici

The Museum is located in the winter apartments of the Grand Dukes. The extraordinary decoration of the Planetary Rooms, designed by the great Baroque painter Pietro da Cortona, creates an overwhelming effect of frescoes and stucco. It forms the background for the superb exhibition of paintings from the Medici collections, including masterpieces by Raphael, Titian, Rubens, and Van Dijk. Frescoes, stucco, artworks, furniture: the interior decoration recalls the Prince’s daily life, which was ruled by strict etiquette and whose minutiae were recorded in the archival documents of the Medici court.
